 
My wife and I are a 70 year old couple (plus or minus) who are experienced boat lovers from my first rowboat, at age 10, to ski boats and to a 52 foot ketch we lived aboard. We love the water and the outdoors. Our daughter talked us into renting a kayak at Grand Lake a year or so ago and we loved the quiet mobility and the exercise that does not hurt the knees.
We immediately started the research to test our interest and to find the right one. We rented different types: sit on top, sit in, hard, and inflatable. We decided to purchase a hard kayak. We went to a dealer and were prepared to write a hefty $2,500 check plus rack and options when we happened to try the lift handles. To our shock we could not imagine lifting it over our heads to put on our car without a struggle resulting in damage to our selves, our car, and the kayak!
 The focus became an inflatable with its portability and ease of handling. We had an inflatable dinghy when sailing, so we knew their convenience and reliability if properly made of seaworthy materials, using quality construction methods. We saw the Sevylor and were able to rent it and did not like it. They claimed the tandem would track well but we were not sure. Then the Internet led us to Qayak with your hypalon, and 2 fins (very important and, we have found, very effective), great price, and, after a conversation with your tech support, we took the plunge.
We are very impressed with the design, construction, and performance. We have used ours on Cherry Creek Reservoir, Bar Lake, Horsetooth Reservoir, Grand Lake, and in October we were on Lake Powell. It tracks well, has good speed (we think it compares favorably to hard tandems but we have not gone side to side), allows storage of dry bags easily bungied to the seat clips, is quickly set up.

You should know that we love our Qayak and we see all kinds of quiet exploration opportunities ahead for us. Not expeditions, mind you, but what about paddling noiselessly up to 3 moose at Grand Lake—how great is that!
